President El-Sisi added in a joint press conference with Salva Kiir, that South Sudanâ€™s stability is from Egyptâ€™s prioritiesØŒ noting that Egypt was the second country to recognize South Sudan as an independent state in 2011.
â€œEgypt always seeks to support South Sudanâ€, President El-Sisi said.
El-Sisi pointed out that he discussed with President Salva KiirØŒ ways to boost bilateral cooperation, in addition to important regional and international issuesØŒ including; the positive role of UN delegationØŒ and peacekeeping forces in South Sudan.
President El-Sisi and Salva Kiir also discussed the peace process in South Sudan, and the importance of the commitment to the peaceful settlement agreement signed in August 2015 as this agreement is considered a key mechanism for the restoration of peace, stability and prosperity in S. Sudan.
President El-Sisi stressed on Egyptâ€™s support for S. Sudan.
The two presidents also discussed the positive role of the United Nations mission, peacekeepers in South Sudan, and protection forces, scheduled to be deployed in the country, meanwhile El-Sisi expressed Egyptâ€™s keenness to take part in this process. â€
President El-Sisi said that the international community should support the peace process in South Sudan.
